Sean John FYI: I have copied over my criticism from the opening to the load, 'coz I actually got a LOAD TRAY version, a not a slot-load. I like the safety that an emergency eject hole. Otherwise everything is. ============================= I have this DigiStore Blu-Ray burner for my HD video. I am a semi-professional videographers and I take some of my shots / subjects / videos in high definition. At one point earlier this year, I realized that burning to DVD is just not enough for HD content - the 4-gigabyte something does not cut it. I decided to get DigiStore Blu-ray burner, because I am one of their DVD burner and got - 8x External USB 2.0 Powered by Digistore DVD burner - and I could see from their website - one that the [. ..]-, had designed a similar Blu-Ray burner. The reason why I was so happy with the DVD was that he did not need a power cord for her I'm happy to say that Blu-Ray is the same - no power cord. I use it for my HD video editing, connected to the PC. I also carry it around, is very lightweight and portable, on my shoots should be the need to burn on the spot. And 'plug and play, no drivers required - Vista and Windows 7 supports Blu-ray natively. And I met a burn on the damaged disk. Something to do with battery power, but I also made sure that he has enough power to burn, I had the double-USB accessory. I am very happy with the product. 24 of 25 people found this review helpful. Fortunately for easy plug and play Blu-ray disc data storage device for Mac and PC Mark Lear manage a recording studio and audio / video post-editing facility in which we are dealing with tons of digital data on a daily basis. We have terabytes of storage in our studios for editing sessions online, but when it comes to archiving our productions, video productions, in particular, we need dozens of DVDs for archiving the data first (and only SD material) contain much both save DVD is also a task that we do not have to cope better. So we had our eye on Blu-ray for some time that the media of choice, what with the capacity to 25GB - to 5 MiniDV raw material are stored in one BD-R! And video projects with more than 5 miniDV, there is a 50 GB Blu-ray discs can handle the job. This DigiStore Blu-ray is sneakernet perfect for our mixed OS and operations, there is an external USB-2. driven by the bus we can take a room / apartment to another without worrying about compatibility. It is also quite robust, despite the plastic housing, it was not even a hiccup since abandoned. Blu-ray burning and reading of data is resident on both Windows PC (we are running Vista and Windows 7) and Mac OS X (we have 103.9, 10.4.11 and 10.6.3). Now, with this external Blu-ray, we have minimized the number of discs that we manage, we also minimized the time spent managing backup / archive session from the moment we just dropped all data to a disc is not necessary to calculate the number of disks to be used and how to share data across multiple discs. I hope this review helps. 17 of 19 people found this review helpful. DigiStore external Blu-ray Burner USB 2.0 (tray loading) What Chrysostom Darn it works as advertised. The only bad part is that the costs for supporting bluray is so rediculously super expensive I do not think the recording will jump Bluray mainstream. On the other hand, it is fast and very very quiet compared to my other external slim DVD + R /-R burner. It also has an internal battery. I was hoping to have an eSATA version itself, but oh well. Although the price it would be nice if it comes with a standard AC adapter that plugs into a wall instead of dual cured with dual USB connection but it was worth the purchase. I got the tray-load version, because it was faster than the union.
