I bought three of the Kinsey Panasonic (Matshita) UJ240AS optical drives, with the first purchase of more than one year ago. None of these units have failed. As a matter of fact, none of them even have the hiccups in its operations. The only downside to this is the lack of optical drive playback software, but there are many companies out there willing to spoil you with playback software. Because these units are, for me, a "known commodity", together with the fact that none of the three purchased could not function as it should, I would buy no other. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Panasonic Disc BD-R Good, but not the best! By AJB It does the job. For the price I can not complain. I made new before long he did not come with a software or instructions. It would have been nice if he had come with software does. Works fine for Mac! Purchased by K. Eng, this element is to be with my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini for playing back Blu-Ray burner and use them. Since the interface is USB, it's a bit slow on the fiery side, but it's nice to play. As many may know, is a new software for playing Blu-ray discs on the Mac - you can get it at macblurayplayer.com. Caveat that the software is not quite ready for prime time, but promised! This article is a 12.5 mm high drive capacity does not match that of MBP or older Mini. But I had a case that carries it around and plan to fit it with me when needed for display or storage of large amounts of data. I think the fact that there are compartment-loaded, I think it allows me to play different types of discs (some people still use the mini-disc) that I can not play both Mac good product and good service for this object.
