The swap out was easy, and the new drive worked perfectly the first time. When I installed the software that came with the CD that includes an option to update the firmware on the new drive. So I chose this and went on. The firmware update program tried to install new drivers for both the unit and my LG DVD-R / W. However, no update for unsigned drivers and Win7 requires signed drivers. After that none of my two optical drives work. I had to do a system restore to go back. Later I learned that Win7 is a startup option that lets you bypass the need for signed drivers. This is the link to the page describing the review: [...] Just click F8 when Windows starts to boot options page. Selecting Start, I was able to install any software without problems after rebooting, I did return to normal with two OK Win7 hard work. With this reservation, I recommend this training for people who want to create Blu-Ray. But it certainly was a hassle to find the solution. 114 of 120 people found this review helpful. With good software OEM G. Allen first place, it is a commercial for LG, so if you look at the LG site consumption, no, get real information here: [...] Note that it is compatible with LightScribe. I had no idea when I bought it. (Pleasant surprise). The software is CyberLink PowerDVD 8 (a BlueRay disk), with a number of other pieces of software CyberLink (Director, LabelPrint, MediaShow 4, Power2Go, PowerBackup, and PowerProducer YouCam) After installation, the software allows you to play BlueRay movies (tested with Quantum of Solace). It also comes with a SATA cable, 4 case screws and a SATA cable MOLEX power converter, and a real manual for the OEM it is a very complete package. I've only had for two days, coupled with operating system Windows 7 64-bit. 41 of 44 people found this review helpful. Best bang for the buck! R. Balmes This was exactly what I would do, play and burn Blu-ray! It works well with 2 year old Dell PC. I think because the seller says: "bulk" means obtained as a result of the mass I have not received in original box, but it came with all the necessary software and SATA cable and screws and the drive is sealed in plastic. Definitely a good product. View all 74 comments ....
